The U.S. Men’s Futsal Team began to build toward the next FIFA Futsal World Cup last week as a squad including nine MISL standouts and coached by the Milwaukee Wave’s Keith Tozer swept through the Four Nations Tournament in Newcastle, England. The side, which included players such as All-MISL selections Nelson Santana of the Syracuse Silver Knights, Pat Healey of the Baltimore Blast and Nick Vorberg of the Milwaukee Wave, took victories against England, Malaysia and Poland to start the building process off on the right foot.

U.S. Futsal National Team head coach Keith Tozer named a 14-player roster for the Four Nations Tournament from June 6-9 in England. The team will travel to Europe after a four-day long training camp in Milwaukee, Wis., that kicks off May 31.

New two-year deal struck to keep team in downtown Milwaukee
The Milwaukee Wave and the Wisconsin Center District have signed a two-year contract to ensure the Wave will remain in Downtown Milwaukee. Steve Palec of CRESA represented Sue Black, owner and CEO of the Wave. Palec played a critical role in brokering the deal between the Wisconsin Center District and the Wave.

Jim Lindenberg has sold the Milwaukee Wave Professional Indoor Soccer Team and the Wave of Hope (501C) to President and CEO Sue Black in a confidential agreement. Black had so much community support and belief in this team during the end of the season that she approached Lindenberg to take over Ownership. “It was very easy to complete the transaction with President/CEO Sue Black and the United Soccer League," said Lindenberg.

Rally to edge Missouri 8-6 and claim series
The Baltimore Blast scored four second half goals to claim an 8-6 victory against the Missouri Comets in Game 2 of the MISL Championship Series on Saturday night at 1st Mariner Arena, giving the Blast a 2-0 series victory and their seventh MISL Championship. Blast goalkeeper William Vanzela claimed Most Valuable Player honors for the series, as he finished with 30 saves in two games to key Baltimore’s pair of victories.
