BALTIMORE -- Saturday's game between the Baltimore Blast and the Milwaukee Wave will be a battle between the top two teams in the MISL as well as a rematch of the 2011 MISL Championship. The Eastern Division-leading Blast (14-4) has won their last four games and has already clinched the Eastern Division regular season title. The Central Division-leading Wave (14-2) will look for revenge for Baltimore's 9-4 New Year's Eve win at U.S. Cellular Arena.
The Blast are led by Machel Millwood who has 54 points, followed by Max Ferdinand (52 points) and Adauto Neto (43) while Sagu is 11-3 on the season and Akira Fitzgerald is 3-1. Millwood and Ferdinand have each recorded 17 points in the Blast's last four games.
The Wave are led by veteran Greg Howes (46 points) and Ian Bennett (44) and goalkeepers Nick Vorberg (6-1) and Marcel Feenstra (8-1) have split time in goal this season. Head Coach Keith Tozer earned his 700th indoor soccer victory last week when the Wave beat the Silver Knights.
Baltimore and Milwaukee share a long, heated rivalry, dating back to the 1992-93 season when the teams played each other for the first time. The Wave lead the all-time series 45-29 and the Blast lead the all-time postseason series, 9-4. The teams have combined to win 10 of the last 14 league championships with each team calcimining five titles.
